This is a beautifully conceptual and reflective image. The "cathedral" is not built of stone, but is formed by the reflection of trees and sky in a still, vast puddle of water ("charco") on the ground after a rain. The composition turns the world upside down, finding grandeur and spiritual awe in the mundane. The clarity of the reflection creates a symmetrical, almost mystical scene, blurring the boundary between the real and the illusory. It invites viewers to see the extraordinary within the ordinary and reflects Cattani's ability to find profound beauty and metaphor in Uruguay's natural landscapes.
“Buena parte de mi trabajo deambuló en personajes del campo uruguayo, la obra muestra el país nuestro auténtico. Mostrar nuestro país, nuestros ríos, nuestras personas. No todo el trabajo se va a limitar a eso, hay algunas fotos que también van a ser urbanas.”
“Most of my works are about wandering characters in rural Uruguay, showcasing our real country. Showcasing our country, our rivers, and our people. Not all work is limited to this, and some photos may also be urban.”
